REGULATIONS FOR THE ADDITIONAL CATEGORY:

BEST SCREENPLAY PITCH

  1. About the Additional Category
By decision of the Organizer (in accordance with Section 3 of the Award Regulations), an additional category, Best Screenplay Pitch, is introduced as part of the second Award season.

A screenplay pitch is regarded as a preliminary development document intended to present and evaluate a project's concept, screen storytelling potential, target audience, format, and production considerations.

The official partner of this category is Autonomous Nonprofit Organization “Author.” The winner of this category (First Prize) will receive the exclusive opportunity to attend ANO “Author” intensive programs and masterclasses for one calendar year. This benefit does not include accommodation during the events or travel to and from the event locations.
2. Purpose of the Category
The Best Screenplay Pitch category has been established to identify and recognize original science fiction concepts with the potential to be adapted into feature films, television series, or animated productions.
3. Eligibility
Authors participating in the current Award season in the Best Story or Best Story for Children and Young Adults categories are eligible to enter the screenplay pitch competition.

Each author may submit one screenplay pitch. The submission must comply with the competition theme for the current Award season.
4. Requirements for the Screenplay Pitch
Submissions to the screenplay category are accepted exclusively through the standard submission form. Screenplay pitches submitted in any other format will not be considered and will not be eligible for the competition.

The screenplay pitch submission form is available on the Award's official website at https://fhistory.ru.

A screenplay pitch must include the following sections:
  • Project title
  • Target audience
  • References
  • Setting
  • Project theme and core idea
  • Central issue and its relevance
  • Logline and synopsis
  • Project's unique features

Additional guidance on completing the screenplay pitch is provided in the submission form.
5. Review of Screenplay Pitches
Screenplay pitches will be reviewed, evaluated, and selected in accordance with the general procedures governing submissions in the Best Story and Best Story for Children and Young Adults categories.
6. Prizes
Winners in the Best Screenplay Pitch category will receive the following cash prizes:
  • First Prize - ₽500,000
  • Second Prize - ₽250,000
  • Third Prize - ₽150,000
7. Timeline
The key dates for the Best Screenplay Pitch category are as follows:
  • Announcement of the Award season - no later than May 20, 2026
  • Opening of screenplay pitch submissions - June 20, 2026
  • Deadline for screenplay pitch submissions - September 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. MSK
  • Publication of the nomination list - no later than September 10, 2026
  • Longlist announcement - October 2026
  • Shortlist announcement - November 2026
  • Announcement of the winners in all Award categories - at the Awards Ceremony, to be held no later than December 31, 2026
